Attraction

The nearest township is Kaitaia – 15 km’s away.  This is where the  Pak N Save supermarket is.  Kaitaia is also where all the Tour buses leave from for those booked on a bus Tour to Cape Reinga

Beaches:  we have numerous!!  At Karikari Peninsular on the East Coast is Matai Bay – great safe swimming.  Tokerau Beach, which is great for a spot of fishing, kite surfing or even boating.

The crystal clear waters of Rangiputa with excellent boat launching off the beach – gateway to the Rangaunu harbour – once again great fishing/diving and swimming

Carrington Estate has a winery and restaurant that serves lunches and has a golf course.

Taipa, Coopers Beach, Cable Bay and Mangonui – all little settlements along the shoreline on SH10.

Lots of cafes and eateries including the well known Mangonui Fish Shop sitting out over the water in the Mangonui harbour.

The legendary 90 Mile Beach “Te Oneroa a Tohe” is a must see – from Ahipara at the bottom – Te Paki Stream and the Sand Dunes and of course the Light House at the top.   The walk from the car park to the light house is well set out with seats along the way for those wanting to take in the view.

At Te Paki Stream you are able to hire boards to slide down the great sand dunes – once you’ve walked to the top!
